How to Survive Hard Times

Which should be sub-titled, “How comedy saved our lives”. Yes, we Neumans have had bad times. Unemployment. Marital Stress. Teenagers. Death. Depression. oh. and Addiction. How do you get through that kind of shit? Comedy. Lots and lots of comedy. We started out watching our comedy on the tv. Then we realized that we could listen on our streaming service, Rhapsody which is now embarrassingly Napster (it makes me feel like ’90s music pirate despite paying a monthly fee). Now that we can go out again, we go to shows. Bill Maher and Patton Oswalt got us through last May’s Sophie anniversary. They will get us through the Christmas holidays too (hello, Honolulu!)

When we found out that our Australian trip was crashing and that we were going to be in San Diego instead, Kevin found us some comedy. We could see Patton Oswalt again! (yes, we seem to be stalking him)

The California Center for the Arts was lovely. They had weird sculptures and weirder wine sippy cups. But we had a great time.
